Proud Supporters of the Leadership Jersey Breakfast: Turning Round Tigers
Rossborough Insurance is proud to announce our support of Leadership Jersey's Turning Round Tigers breakfast, taking place on Friday 19th August at the Pomme D'or Hotel.
The event will feature talks from two inspirational guest speakers in the form of Leicester Tigers Head Coach, Steve Borthwick, and his colleague and Defence Coach, Kevin Sinfield OBE. The pair will talk about their respective journeys from player to coach, and how they used these insights and methods to turn the team from a struggling bottom-half club in 2020 to Gallagher Premiership Rugby Champions just two years later.
Both speakers boast extensive playing and coaching experience in their respective codes of rugby. During a playing career spanning 16 years, Mr Borthwick amassed more than 400 appearances in rugby union for Preston Grasshoppers, Bath and Saracens, as well as 57 England caps. He went on to become Forwards Coach to the Japan and England national sides spanning 8 years until 2020 when he joined Leicester Tigers as Head Coach.
Mr Sinfield made more than 500 appearances for Leeds Rhinos across an 18-year playing career in rugby league, winning 40 international caps for England and Great Britain during that time. After retiring in 2016, he went on to be Rugby Director for the RFL and then Director of Rugby for Leeds Rhinos until 2021, when he joined Leicester Tigers as Defence Coach.
Stephen Rafferty, our Business Development Executive said: “As part of the Gallagher family of companies, with Gallagher Premiership Rugby Champions, Leicester Tigers on the island, it is a great opportunity for Rossborough Insurance to get involved. Mr Borthwick and Mr Sinfield are both highly respected individuals and will make for great guest speakers at the event, which we are proud to support and are looking forward to attending.”
“Good leadership is more important than ever, and we are always trying to better ourselves and learn from others. This event aligns with Rossborough’s values about developing skills and supporting the growth of our teams.”
Jersey Evening Post reporter, Tom Innes, will lead the discussion with the Tigers’ coaches, before opening the conversation up to the audience for any questions they may have.
The event marks the end of a week-long training camp for the Leicester Tigers, who will take on the Jersey Reds in a friendly match at Stade Santander in the evening.
